An ex-boxer, at the end of his rope, takes on one last job to square his debt.
The issue starts with some levity, as a man charms his server at a roadside diner, only to dash out on his bill moments later. This introduces us to the charismatic conman, Stanley Dance, who we learn has just perpetrated his last scam. After fleeing the scene, he drives through the desert to a distinct rock, where he digs up a lockbox containing a loaded revolver. This was meant to be the end of Stanley’s story, but as he raises the pistol his phone beeps with a message. He still owes somebody a favor.
This book has a contemporary noir feel, full of debauchery and lies. Stanley shows up in Las Vegas, and immediately jumps back into the world of crime and extortion. With it’s dark, comedic tone, Slots reminded me of the film The Last Boy Scout (There are even panels where Stanley has a more-than-passing resemblance to 1980s Bruce Willis). Nobody’s hands are clean, and even his “friends” seem to be working any angles that may benefit them. The issue was split up into four chapters, which allowed it to cover a good deal of story in 22 pages.
Panosian draws and colors the whole book, and his experience can be seen in the character’s expressions and acting. Having a background in inking and graphic design, all of Dan’s skills are on display here. There’s a high-level of cohesion across the entire book. There’s a lot going on in most of the panels, but everything is legible, and flows nicely.
Slots Comic Reviews
Fans of neo-noir, like The Last Boy Scout or Hulu’s Shut Eye, will find an engaging story populated with rich characters. As much as we learn, there are still several threads left dangling for Panosian to pull on later. With artwork that matches the subject matter perfectly, this could be a great title for someone looking for a more grounded comic book.

Justice League Comic Theme/Symbols
The Justice League Comic slot is rather basic in design and is inspired by the comic books. With a blue background, symbols include A, K, Q and J royals as well as Aquaman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. All done comic book style, Superman is the most rewarding symbol giving you 1, 8 or 40 times your stake for 3, 4 or 5 in combination.
The explosion with the text WILD on it is the wild symbol which replaces all symbols bar the scatter and bonus symbols to help you form the best possible winning combination. It’s also the highest paying symbol for 3, 4 or 5 on a payline giving you 4, 40 or 400 times your total stake.
Bonus features

Look out for the Bonus symbol (portrayed by enemies The Joker, Darkseid and Cheetah) on reels 1, 2 and 3 simultaneously as this will give you access to 1 of 3 bonus features. You then choose 1 of the 3 bonus symbols to reveal your prize:
- Revealing a ? will award the Mystery Symbol Bonus feature – mystery symbols then appear on all positions where bonus symbols have landed. The first 3 reels will be replaced with a 3x3 stacked mega symbol. The reels then spin and will display the same symbol on all positions. This could be any symbol including a wild.
- Revealing a ←will trigger the Moving Wild Bonus feature – all bonus symbols will transform into shifting wilds. These wilds than shift 1 position left while the reels respin with the multiplier increasing to 2x. Each respin increases the multiplier to 3x and 5x.
- Revealing 2 revolving arrows will activate the Coin Respin Bonus feature. You will come across a special reel set with only blank, coin and 2x symbols in play. The 3 bonus symbols are replaced with coin or 2x symbols. If a new coin or 2x symbol lands, they lock in position and the reels respin. 2x symbols will double all present coin values on the reels. The feature ends once no new symbols land on the empty positions or you fill all 15 positions.
Free Games feature
Justice League Comic comes with a Free Games feature – this is played when you get 3 Justice League logo scatter symbols on reels 3, 4 and 5. This will reward you with 10, 15 or 20 free spins with a 1x or 2x multiplier. The free spins are then played on an expanded reel set with 4 rows and 40 paylines.
During the feature, landing 2 scatters will give you 1, 2, 3 or 5 additional free spins – they can also add extra bonus symbols to reels 1, 2 or 3. If you land 3 scatters, you will get 10 more free spins and increase the multiplier by 1.
Furthermore, the Mystery Symbol, Moving Wild and Coin Respin Bonus features can come into play by getting 3 bonus symbols on reels 1, 2 and 3. If you play the Moving Wild Bonus feature within the Free Games feature, the win multipliers are multiplied by the multiplier from the free spins – it can reach as high as 16x!
DC Super Heroes Jackpot feature

Justice League Comic slot closing thoughts
Whilst visually Justice League Comic isn’t as sharp as the first Justice League slot, it more than stacks up in terms of gameplay. I love the fact it comes with a high value wild symbol that can reward you with 10,000 times your stake on each base game spin.
In the Free Games feature, with 40 paylines, you can win 16,000 times your stake if you fill the reels with wilds. Add in the rising multiplier and the wins can be astronomical. Overall, Justice League Comic is 1 of Playtech’s best DC Comics slots with some serious win potential.
